Tanya M. Keller (formerly Johannesson) graduated with a LL.B. from the University of Manitoba in 2008. She articled and practiced as an associate at D’Arcy & Deacon LLP in family law and estate litigation for almost nine years until joining the firm of Sternat Manaigre Law Corporation in 2017 and became a partner in 2022. She practices mainly in the areas of family law, wills and estates planning, litigation and administration, residential real estate and child protection. Tanya has represented clients in all levels of Court in Manitoba. She has experience in dealing with divorce, common-law separations, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, separation agreements, variations and has been trained in Collaborative Law and mediation. She has a special interest in the intersection of estates and family law.
Before attending Law School, she completed her B.A. at the University of Winnipeg, majoring in psychology, and graduating with distinction.
Tanya has been active in the community and enjoys volunteering for various organizations, including the Manitoba Bar Association where she was the co-chair of the Law Day Committee (2017-2019), Co Chair of the Women Lawyer’s Forum (2017-2018), became a council member of the Manitoba Bar Association in 2017, an Executive Committee member in 2019, and is set to become the President of the Manitoba Bar Association in 2022/2023.
Tanya donates her time to various other community organizations. She enjoys mentoring law students and one of her favorite volunteer activities is supervising the drop in clinics at the Legal Help Centre. She also enjoys contributing her time and support to the Community Legal Education Association (CLEA), serving on the Advisory Committee, and participating in the Speaker’s Bureau program providing presentations on family law to local schools or organizations. She also is Co-Chair of the Training Committee, and a representative on the Steering Committee for Collaborative Practice Manitoba.
Tanya is the lucky mother to three loving little girls, an eight year old and identical twin six-year-olds.
